Hyperreal Darth Vader

Darth Vader is definitely one of the most iconic villains in movie history. Hasbro recently released a premium figure at a reasonable price. Hyperreal is a new line of figures full of potential. The firs of the new 8" line, Vader comes with a display stand, various hands, a Force push effect, and a lightsaber.

What makes Hyperreal Darth Vader so special?  He's got a metal skeleton!  No, not talking about his robot parts from the movies, this toy has an actual metal skeleton that has a rubber-like "skin" making the external layer of the figure along with plastic and cloth elements, giving this figure a seamless look.
The look is fantastic. Execution is a mixed bag. My copy's left arm is very stiff.  I've heard many complaints online of internal breakages trying to pose him.  Mine will be posed once then done. He looks menacing in any toy collection, not just for Star Wars fans.  I really hope the Hyperreal line expands beyond Star Wars. I would love Marvel heroes and other franchises to get the Hyperreal treatment.

  • Great looking figure and a nice introduction to seamless action figures.

  • Some stiff joints in the metal skeleton.
  • Limited articulation due to thick "skin".
